IFSS LogoThe 2009 Wilderness Classic Sled Dog Derby in Elkford, B.C. has accredited its event with the International Federation of Sleddog Sports (IFSS) making this event the 5th Canadian event to join the world cup circuit for this season.  Participants at this event and other accredited races will accrue world cup points toward their annual totals.  For more information on IFSS-sanctioned Canadian events in 2009, please click here.

IFSS LogoIndividuals placing in the top three in world cup points standings for their region are exempt from qualifying for International Federation of Sleddog Sports (IFSS) world championship participation by their respective national federations' selection criteria.

Team Canada 2009 selection process

Team Canada ImageThere are still numerous positions left to fill for Team Canada at the 2009 IFSS World Championships in Daaquam, Quebec. The Quebec delegation of team Canada is being assembled by affiliates of the race organizing committee, as Quebec is the host region; Any Canadian musher from outside of Quebec who is interested in attending must hurry to apply.  Click here for more information. N.B. Anyone who has already qualified via World Cup points must also complete an application and submit it through this process.
